Northwest Chapter of Mu Alpha Theta Inducts 18 New Members

Northwest Mississippi Community College inducts 18 new members into the mathematics honor society Mu Alpha Theta on April 4, 2025. Mu Alpha Theta is a national high school and two-year college mathematics honor society focused on excellence and interest in mathematics.

Founded at the University of Oklahoma in 1957, the honor society boasts over 100,000 members across over two thousand schools across the United States and 23 foreign countries.

Like most honor societies, this allows students to have unique opportunities for scholarships and community with like-minded students.

"We are excited to have 18 students initiated into Mu Alpha Theta this year," said instructor of Mathematics, Dr. Jennifer Jones. "These students have excelled in their math courses, and they are very deserving of this recognition."
