SENATOBIA, MS (09/26/2011)(readMedia)-- Northwest Mississippi Community College accountancy major Jessica Rayford of Batesville was honored on Friday, Sept. 23 by the Senatobia Rotary Club as Student of the Month.
Northwest economics and statistics instructor, Marty Bolen, joined Rayford's parents, Ann and Jimmie Gipson, to recognize Rayford for her academic achievement.
"Jessica is an outstanding student as evidenced by her excellent grade point average in accounting," said Bolen. "Her achievement is even more remarkable considering she works 40-50 hours per week as a hotel clerk. Her ability to work as much as she does and still maintain good grades and excellent punctuality is a testament to the quality of person and student she is."
The Senatobia Rotary Club recognizes one Northwest student and teacher each month for their excellence in the classroom. For more information about the Senatobia Rotary Club's Student of the Month program, contact Northwest career counselor Doug Freeze at dfreeze@northwestms.edu.
