Nurses Association Honors Joanne Lapidus-Graham with Nursing Education Award
LATHAM, NY (10/14/2009)(readMedia)-- Joanne Lapidus-Graham, associate professor of nursing for the School of Health Sciences at Farmingdale State College, was awarded the Nursing Education award by the New York State Nurses Association at its biennial convention on Oct. 10.
The award is presented to the nursing educator who promotes innovative educational methods, patterns or systems.
Lapidus-Graham encourages her students to question their environment and actively participate in legislative activities that will promote positive outcomes for patient care. As chair of the nursing department's outcome assessment committee for nine years, she contributed to changes that improved student outcomes related to critical thinking, communication, nursing intervention, and N-CLEX passing rates.
Lapidus-Graham lives in Woodbury, NY.
