Nursing Students Raise Money for Childhood Cancer

DANVILLE , IL (02/09/2013)(readMedia)-- A group of students from Lakeview College of Nursing will participate in holding a lemonade stand and raffle for Alex's Lemonade Stand at County Market Tilton, IL on February 16 from 9 am- 2pm. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.

Lakeview College of Nursing students will be holding a lemonade stand at Tilton County Market, 1628 Georgetown Road, to help raise money for Alex's Lemonade Stand to help benefit childhood cancer research. The lemonade will be donation only and all proceeds will be sent to the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation.

The students will also have raffle tickets available for various gift baskets and prizes that have been donated from local businesses. Raffle tickets will be $2.00 a piece of 3 tickets for $5.00. The students will sell raffle tickets through the beginning of April and names will be drawn then, need not be present to win.

Jena Boen, Indianola, IL; Jessica Hetrick, Fairmount, IL; Brittany Hicks, Monticello, IL; and Chelsea Oberheim, Decatur, IL, have chosen to help this organization because of their desire to help find a cure for childhood cancer.

Lakeview College of Nursing students are taught key values of adaptability, caring, excellence, service and integrity. Providing service and excellence to organizations such as Alex's Lemonade Stand is a rewarding opportunity for the students. It allows them to give back and to also get the Danville community involved and aware of the devastating disease of childhood cancer.
