The law firm of O'Connell and Aronowitz in Albany, New York, has named Jane Bello Burke, Esq., as its newest member. Ms. Burke practices in the Health Law Department of the firm.

ALBANY, NY (12/04/2007)(readMedia)-- O’Connell and Aronowitz is pleased to announce that Jane Bello Burke, Esq., has become a member of the firm. Ms. Burke practices in the Health Law Department of the firm, where she represents health care and long-term care providers in regulatory matters, including survey and certification, corporate compliance, and fraud and abuse issues. She also represents clients in a wide variety of litigation and administrative proceedings.

Ms. Burke presents regularly on topics affecting health care providers, including judicial and regulatory developments and end-of-life issues. She presented on "The Enforceability of Arbitration Agreements in Long-Term Care: Federal Preemption and State Law Challenges" at the American Health Lawyers Association 2006 National Conference. Her article entitled "Assisted Living in New York: Old and Broke, Where Will We Go from Here?” was published in the Health Law Journal of the NYS Bar Association (Summer 2007), and her article entitled "The Use of Pre-Dispute Arbitration Clauses in New York Nursing Home Agreements" was published in the Health Law Journal of the NYS Bar Association (Winter 2006).

Ms. Burke graduated from Georgetown University and the American University/Washington College of Law. She began her career as a litigator at New York’s Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom before relocating to the Capital District. She is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, the New York State and Albany County Bar Associations. She is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court, Southern, Northern, Eastern and Western Districts of New York; and the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Second Judicial Department.
