OCTC AFA Exhibition, Artworks by Zachary Roberts and Jacob Wedding

OWENSBORO, KY (03/27/2018) An exhibition of artworks by Zachary Roberts and Jacob Wedding are on display in the Dayman Gallery, located on the second floor of the Learning Resource Center on OCTC's Main Campus. The exhibition opened March 19 and will run through April 16, 2018. The exhibit includes both artist's works that were completed during their course of study while pursuing an Associate in Fine Arts (AFA) Degree in Visual Arts.

Zachary Roberts is on track to earn an AFA-Visual Arts in the summer of 2018. Roberts is an officer of the OCTC Art Club and has exhibited his work in student art exhibitions each semester for the past two years. His work has been published in Skylark Magazine, OCTC's literary and arts magazine that is produced each spring. He plans to continue his studies in art, transferring to Kentucky Wesleyan College in the fall of 2018 and has ambitions to work as an illustrator for publications like Marvel. His exhibition includes drawings and oil paintings. Roberts' states, "I've seen improvements in my artwork during my time here at OCTC, both in the 2D and 3D media. I was challenged with things I did not normally work with and new techniques. I feel like these things overall made me become a better artist."


Jacob Wedding is also on track to earn an AFA - Visuals Arts in the summer of 2018. Wedding has exhibited his work in student art exhibitions each semester for the past two years and has had his work included in the Skylark Magazine. He plans to continue his studies in art, transferring to the University of Louisville where he will major in graphic design and minor in photography. His exhibition includes drawings, oil paintings, and 3-dimensional works.

Wedding stated, "My time at OCTC has been life changing. I am not exactly sure when the change occurred but I do know the people around me at the college had a major impact in my growth. My exhibit consists of subjects that I have always been interested in, particularly sports, as shown through my painting".
