OGS TO AWARD OVER $462,800 IN NEW CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTS

Work to Commence in Two New York Counties

ALBANY, NY (07/02/2009)(readMedia)-- New York State Office of General Services Commissioner John C. Egan today announced the awarding of bids for three contracts representing more than $462,800 in new construction, providing work in two counties of New York.

The contracts are expected to be awarded to the apparent low bidders following the normal process of review and approval by the State Comptroller's Office. All of the low bidders are New York State firms.

The projects and apparent low bidders are described in the following listing by county:

CHEMUNG COUNTY

Electrical and plumbing contracts were bid to replace sump pumps, Building Nos. 3, 4 & 5 at the Elmira Psychiatric Center in Elmira, NY.

Electrical: JB Daniel LLC of Geneva, NY was the apparent low bidder out of two firms. The low bid was $14,900.

Plumbing: John R. Wilkins Construction, Inc. of Syracuse, NY was the apparent low bidder out of three firms. The low bid was $88,000.

WASHINGTON COUNTY

A construction contract to rehabilitate catwalks at guard towers nos. 1 thru 8 at the Great Meadow Correctional Facility in Comstock, NY was bid by ten firms. Of those ten, Rozell East, Inc. of Queensbury, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $359,900.
