OGS to Award over $1.9 Million in New Construction Contracts

ALBANY, NY (01/28/2010)(readMedia)-- New York State Office of General Services Commissioner John C. Egan today announced the awarding of bids for three contracts representing more than $1.9 MILLION in new construction, providing work in three counties of New York.

The contracts are expected to be awarded to the apparent low bidders following the normal process of review and approval by the State Comptroller's Office. All but one of the low bidders are New York State firms.

The projects and apparent low bidders are described in the following listing by county:

ALBANY COUNTY

A construction contract to provide vegetated roof system at the Holland Avenue Office Building in Albany, NY was bid by ten firms. Of those ten, Titan Roofing, Inc. of Chicopee, MA was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $1,082,900.

SCHUYLER COUNTY

A construction contract to replace windows, Building No. 1, Phase I at the NYS Academy of Fire Science in Montour Falls, NY was bid by 12 firms. Of those 12, Ajay Glass & Mirror Co., Inc. of Manchester, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $161,100.

ULSTER COUNTY

A heating and ventilation contract to repair steam line between Building Nos. 12 & 13 at the Wallkill Correctional Facility in Wallkill, NY was bid by seven firms. Of those seven, S & O Construction Services, Inc. of Pleasant Valley, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $670,713.
