OGS to Award over $13.9 Million in New Construction Contracts

Work to Commence in Four New York Counties

ALBANY, NY (02/04/2010)(readMedia)-- New York State Office of General Services Commissioner John C. Egan today announced the awarding of bids for eight contracts representing more than $13.9 MILLION in new construction, providing work in four counties of New York.

The contracts are expected to be awarded to the apparent low bidders following the normal process of review and approval by the State Comptroller's Office. All of the low bidders are New York State firms.

The projects and apparent low bidders are described in the following listing by county:

ORLEANS COUNTY

Construction, electrical, heating and ventilation and plumbing contracts were bid to program building addition, Building No. 115 at the Albion Correctional Facility in Albion, NY.

Construction: Building Innovation Group, Inc. of East Rochester, NY was the apparent low bidder out of eight firms. The low bid was $5,828,339.

Electrical: Eastcoast Electric, LLC of Rochester, NY was the apparent low bidder out of seven firms. The low bid was $1,676,100.

Heating and Ventilation: Postler & Jaeckle Corp. of Rochester, NY was the apparent low bidder out of five firms. The low bid was $1,757,000.

Plumbing: Michael A. Ferrauilo Plbg. & Htg., Inc. of Rochester, NY was the apparent low bidder out of six firms. The low bid was $598,700.

OTSEGO COUNTY

A construction contract to provide sewage disposal system at the Troop C Headquarters in Unadilla, NY was bid by 15 firms. Of those 15, Burrel's, Inc. of Norwich, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $99,949.

QUEENS COUNTY

A construction contract to provide structural repairs to the facade of building no. 71 at the Bernard Fineson DDSO in Queens Village, NY was bid by 42 firms. Of those 42, Thoro Technology Corp. of Brooklyn, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $46,960.

SULLIVAN COUNTY

Construction and electrical contracts were bid to upgrade secondary electrical distribution system at the Woodbourne Correctional Facility in Woodbourne, NY.

Construction: Arold Construction Co., Inc. of Kingston, NY was the apparent low bidder out of nine firms. The low bid was $396,396.

Electrical: Lacorte Companies, Inc. of Troy, NY was the apparent low bidder out of ten firms. The low bid was $3,574,214.
