OGS to Award over $3.1 Million in New Construction Contracts
Work to Commence in Six New York Counties
ALBANY, NY (12/11/2009)(readMedia)-- New York State Office of General Services Commissioner John C. Egan today announced the awarding of bids for 11 contracts representing more than $3.1 MILLION in new construction, providing work in six counties of New York.
The contracts are expected to be awarded to the apparent low bidders following the normal process of review and approval by the State Comptroller's Office. All of the low bidders are New York State firms.
The projects and apparent low bidders are described in the following listing by county:
ALBANY COUNTY
Electrical and fire protection/sprinkler contracts were bid to modify piping and replace fire pumps at the New York State Capitol in Albany, NY.
Electrical: Kasselman Electric Co., Inc. of Albany, NY was the apparent low bidder out of ten firms. The low bid was $198,995.
Fire protection/sprinkler: Condor Fire Sprinkler Co., LLC of Schenectady, NY was the apparent low bidder out of four firms. The low bid was $536,300.
A construction contract to replace concrete and repair drains and lines loading dock area at the Cultural Education Center in Albany, NY was bid by 11 firms. Of those eleven, Bryce Construction Inc of Bronx, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $341,442.
CAYUGA COUNTY
A construction contract to provide modifications of sallyport gate controls administration Building No. 1 at the Auburn Correctional Facility in Auburn, NY was bid by three firms. Of those three, Maximum Security Products Corp. of Waterford, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $106,800.
CLINTON COUNTY
Construction, electrical and plumbing contracts were bid to replace yard tower - annex at the Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, NY.
Construction: Murnane Building Contractors, Inc. of Plattsburgh, NY was the apparent low bidder out of six firms. The low bid was $517,100.
Electrical: Mountain Lake Electrical, Inc. of Plattsburgh, NY was the apparent low bidder out of three firms. The low bid was $197,450.
Plumbing: Brockway Mechanical Systems, Inc. of Plattsburgh, NY was the apparent low bidder out of three firms. The low bid was $23,750.
DUTCHESS COUNTY
Electrical and heating and ventilation contracts were bid to replace boilers, Building Nos. 19 and 118 at the Hudson River Psychiatric Center in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Electrical: Sausto Contracting, Inc. of Rhinebeck, NY was the apparent low bidder out of five firms. The low bid was $14,839.
Heating and Ventilation: Hills Industrial Mechanics, Inc. of Beacon, NY was the apparent low bidder out of five firms. The low bid was $351,009.
KINGS COUNTY
A heating and ventilation contract to rehabilitate air conditioning system in kitchen Building No. 33 at the Kingsboro Psychiatric Center in Brooklyn, NY was bid by five firms. Of those five, UAP Inc. of Poughquag, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $223,000.
ONONDAGA COUNTY
A construction contract to provide metal standing seam and epdm roof systems, youth building at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse, NY was bid by 14 firms. Of those 14, J & B Installations, Inc. of Skaneateles Falls, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $669,360.
