OGS to Award over $3.8 Million in New Construction Contracts

Work to Commence in Six New York Counties

ALBANY, NY (12/24/2009)(readMedia)-- New York State Office of General Services Commissioner John C. Egan today announced the awarding of bids for six contracts representing more than $3.8 MILLION in new construction, providing work in six counties of New York.

The contracts are expected to be awarded to the apparent low bidders following the normal process of review and approval by the State Comptroller's Office. All of the low bidders are New York State firms.

The projects and apparent low bidders are described in the following listing by county:

ALBANY COUNTY

A construction contract to provide paving at the DMNA Headquarters in Latham, NY was bid by five firms. Of those five, Peter Luizzi & Bros Contr. Inc of Albany, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $1,876,000.

KINGS COUNTY

A construction contract to replace roof and damaged ceilings, Building No. 2 at the Kingsboro Psychiatric Center in Brooklyn, NY was bid by 15 firms. Of those 15, Dimitri Enterprises, Inc. of Brooklyn, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $85,000.

NEW YORK COUNTY

A construction contract to replace fire/smoke doors at the Metro NY DDSO in New York, NY was bid by ten firms. Of those ten, Dimitri Enterprises, Inc. of Brooklyn, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $632,000.

QUEENS COUNTY

A construction contract to rehabilitate smoke towers a and b, Building No. 40 at the Creedmoor Psychiatric Center in Queens Village, NY was bid by ten firms. Of those ten, Adam Developers Enterprises Inc. of Floral Park, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $488,486.

RICHMOND COUNTY

A construction contract to replace roof of Building Nos. 12 & 13 at the South Beach Psychiatric Center in Staten Island, NY was bid by 18 firms. Of those 18, Indus Construction Services, Inc. of New Hyde Park, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $51,400.

STATEWIDE

An electrical contract to job order contracting - area 1 at the Term Contract in NY was bid by four firms. Of those four, S.J. Electric, Inc. of Lynbrook, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $750,000.
