OGS to Award over $34.3 Million in New Construction Contracts

Work to Commence in Three New York Counties

ALBANY, NY (12/17/2009)(readMedia)-- New York State Office of General Services Commissioner John C. Egan today announced the awarding of bids for 11 contracts representing more than $34.3 MILLION in new construction, providing work in three counties of New York.

The contracts are expected to be awarded to the apparent low bidders following the normal process of review and approval by the State Comptroller's Office. All but one of the low bidders are New York State firms.

The projects and apparent low bidders are described in the following listing by county:

NEW YORK COUNTY

Electrical and elevator contracts were bid to rehabilitate elevators, Building No. 105 at the Kirby Forensic Psychiatric Center in Wards Island, NY.

Electrical: Peter J. Catanzaro, Inc. of Brooklyn, NY was the apparent low bidder out of six firms. The low bid was $163,877.

Elevator: Centennial Elevator Industries, Inc. of Long Island City, NY was the apparent low bidder out of four firms. The low bid was $886,700.

ONEIDA COUNTY

Construction, electrical, heating and ventilation and plumbing contracts were bid to provide central warehouse and dispensing pharmacy at the Marcy Correctional Facility in Marcy, NY.

Construction: Northland Associates, Inc. of Liverpool, NY was the apparent low bidder out of ten firms. The low bid was $7,760,700.

Electrical: Ridley Electric Co., Inc. of Syracuse, NY was the apparent low bidder out of eight firms. The low bid was $2,431,700.

Heating and Ventilation: J & K Plumbing and Heating Co., Inc. of Binghamton, NY was the apparent low bidder out of nine firms. The low bid was $2,039,300.

Plumbing: Brosh Mechanical, Inc. of Liverpool, NY was the apparent low bidder out of 12 firms. The low bid was $369,700.

SENECA COUNTY

Construction, detention, electrical, heating and ventilation and plumbing contracts were bid to provide residential mental health unit Building No. 77 at the Five Points Correctional Facility in Romulus, NY.

Construction: Fahs Construction Group, Inc. of Binghamton, NY was the apparent low bidder out of ten firms. The low bid was $11,941,000.

Detention: Maximum Security Products Corp. of Waterford, NY was the apparent low bidder out of three firms. The low bid was $1,820,800.

Electrical: Ferguson Electric Co., Inc. of Plainville, CT was the apparent low bidder out of ten firms. The low bid was $3,553,394.

Heating and Ventilation: Landry Mechanical Contractors, Inc. of Le Roy, NY was the apparent low bidder out of 11 firms. The low bid was $1,984,694.

Plumbing: Michael A. Ferrauilo Plbg. & Htg., Inc. of Rochester, NY was the apparent low bidder out of 12 firms. The low bid was $1,400,600.
