ALBANY, NY (02/25/2010)(readMedia)-- New York State Office of General Services Commissioner John C. Egan today announced that bids representing more than $4.3 million in new construction have been awarded. The awards encompass five contracts that will provide work in four New York counties.
The contracts are expected to be awarded to the apparent low bidders following the normal process of review and approval by the State Comptroller's Office. All but one of the low bidders are New York State firms.
The projects and apparent low bidders are described in the following listing by county:
CAYUGA COUNTY
A construction contract to provide paving at the State Armory in Auburn, NY was bid by six firms. Of those six, Paul F. Vitale Inc. of Auburn, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $242,000.
KINGS COUNTY
A heating and ventilation contract to provide additional heating, rotunda Building No. 34 at the Kingsboro Psychiatric Center in Brooklyn, NY was bid by 11 firms. Of those 11, Manopole Construction Corp. of Whitestone, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $27,000.
SENECA COUNTY
Electrical and heating and ventilation contracts were bid to rehabilitate heating system, Building No. 117 at the Willard Drug Treatment Center in Willard, NY.
Electrical: O'Connell Electric Company of Victor, NY was the apparent low bidder out of six firms. The low bid was $11,000.
Heating and Ventilation: HMI Mechanical Systems, Inc. of Lyons, NY was the apparent low bidder out of ten firms. The low bid was $1,860,499.
WESTCHESTER COUNTY
An electrical contract to provide inmate radio, catv and public address systems, housing units a, b, 5 and 7 at the Sing Sing Correctional Facility in Ossining, NY was bid by eight firms. Of those eight, T & R Alarm and Electrical Systems, Inc. of Clifton, NJ was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $2,194,100.
