OGS to Award over $573,880 in New Construction Contracts

ALBANY, NY (02/18/2010)(readMedia)-- New York State Office of General Services (OGS) Commissioner John C. Egan today announced that bids representing more than $573,880 in new construction have been awarded. The awards encompass four contracts that will provide work in one New York county.

The contracts are expected to be awarded to the apparent low bidders following the normal process of review and approval by the State Comptroller's Office. All but one of the low bidders are New York State firms.

The projects and apparent low bidders are described in the following listing by county:

NEW YORK COUNTY

A heating and ventilation contract to provide heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) remediation, floors 14-17 at the Manhattan Psychiatric Center in Wards Island, NY was bid by 15 firms. Of those 15, Dimitri Enterprises, Inc. of Brooklyn, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $397,000.

• Electrical, heating and ventilation and elevator contracts were bid to modernize passenger elevator, Building No. 108 at the Manhattan Psychiatric Center in Wards Island, NY.

• Electrical: Raw Power Electric Corp. of Middletown, NY was the apparent low bidder out of seven firms. The low bid was $31,483.

• Heating and Ventilation: Dimitri Enterprises, Inc. of Brooklyn, NY was the apparent low bidder out of one firm. The low bid was $23,000.

• Elevator: Slade Industries, Inc. of Mountainside, NJ was the apparent low bidder out of three firms. The low bid was $122,397.
