OGS to Award over $751,542 in New Construction Contracts

ALBANY, NY (01/14/2010)(readMedia)-- New York State Office of General Services Commissioner John C. Egan today announced the awarding of bids for five contracts representing more than $751,542 in new construction, providing work in three counties of New York.

The contracts are expected to be awarded to the apparent low bidders following the normal process of review and approval by the State Comptroller's Office. All of the low bidders are New York State firms.

The projects and apparent low bidders are described in the following listing by county:

FRANKLIN COUNTY

Construction, electrical and plumbing contracts were bid to replace kitchen floor and ceiling, mess hall at the Franklin Correctional Facility in Malone, NY.

Construction: Con Tech Building Systems, Inc. of Gouverneur, NY was the apparent low bidder out of eight firms. The low bid was $412,224.

Electrical: Skelly Contractors, Inc. of Ogdensburg, NY was the apparent low bidder out of four firms. The low bid was $19,555.

Plumbing: Skelly Contractors, Inc. of Ogdensburg, NY was the apparent low bidder out of four firms. The low bid was $48,800.

KINGS COUNTY

A construction contract to replace roof at the Brooklyn Residential Center in Brooklyn, NY was bid by 18 firms. Of those 18, Imperium Construction, Inc. of Brooklyn, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $91,563.

ULSTER COUNTY

A construction contract to fuel storage tank replacement, Building No. 28 at the Highland Residential Center in Highland, NY was bid by 11 firms. Of those 11, S & O Construction Services, Inc. of Pleasant Valley, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $179,400.
