OGS to Hold Pre-Bid MWBE Outreach Conference For $33 Million Construction Project in Oneida County

ALBANY, NY (09/12/2011)(readMedia)-- The New York State Office of General Services (OGS) Commissioner RoAnn Destito today announced the agency is holding a pre-bid informational outreach conference for minority, women and local businesses in advance of a $33 million construction project in Oneida County. The conference will be held on Tuesday, September 20 at 10:00 a.m. in the Utica State Office Building, Conference Rooms A&B, 1st Floor.

The construction project is for a 60,000-square-foot addition to the existing Walsh Regional Medical Unit (RMU) at the Mohawk Correctional Facility and a single-story addition to the existing C-wing. The anticipated project timeline is approximately three years. Prime and subcontracting opportunities include demolition, electrical, HVAC, masonry, plumbing, structural steel, fire protection, scaffolding, and painting.

The Office of General Services requires the participation of minority and women-owned business enterprises (MWBE) in its procurement and construction programs and requires that MWBEs and MWBE employees are given the opportunity to participate.
