LAMONI, IA (10/01/2018) Iowa State Representative Scott Ourth, Ackworth, has accepted appointment to a three-year term on the Graceland University Board of Trustees. He will serve on the 27-member governing board of the university until 2021.

Ourth, a graduate of Graceland, has continued to be a very active supporter of the institution. He served on the Graceland Alumni Board of Directors, has hosted many university classes on trips to the Iowa Capitol, and was the 2017 Constitution Day Speaker on the Graceland University Lamoni, Iowa, campus.

Additionally, Ourth is an active missionary elder in the Community of Christ, Graceland's sponsoring church. He presided at the memorial services for former congressman Leonard Boswell and his wife, Dody, held on the Graceland campus in Lamoni last month.

"Scott's passion for Graceland is amazing," states Graceland University President Patricia H. Draves. "Members of the Ourth family have been university stalwarts for nearly a century, and Scott is a model of Graceland's three core values of learning, wholeness and community. I am grateful for his willingness to serve."

"Graceland has been central to the life of my family for generations," shared Ourth. "The culture and values that are a part of Graceland's very fabric have inspired countless members of my family to seek lives of service to others. I am honored beyond words to have been appointed to the Board of Trustees at my beloved alma mater."
