One-Bite Creations Win State Fair Awards

DES MOINES, IA (09/16/2024) (readMedia)-- Pamela Reynolds of Norwalk won first place and a $250 cash award in the Best Bite – One-Bite Creation competition judged Thursday, August 15, at the 2024 Iowa State Fair.

Mary Burr of Iowa City earned second place and a $100 cash award. Olivia Smith of Winterset claimed third place and a $50 cash award.

Entries were judged on taste, creativity and appearance.

The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. There were 140 divisions, 726 classes and nearly 6,400 entries at this year's Fair. Food Department judging is held in the Elwell Family Food Center.
