ROCHESTER, NY (05/15/2012)(readMedia)-- In fall 2011, Leanne Charlesworth, associate professor of social work at Nazareth, initiated the PhotoVoice Exhibition in an effort to bring awareness to homelessness in Rochester while also building the participants' photography and writing skills. The PhotoVoice participants not only took pictures of their daily lives but also wrote short paragraphs reflecting on their captured moments.
| WHO: | Nazareth College hosts the opening night of a riveting photographic exhibition, Exposed: Rochester’s Hidden Victims of Homelessness PhotoVoice Exhibition. The opening will include remarks from multiple PhotoVoice participants displaying their photos and writings, the Chair of the Homeless Services Network Carrie Michel-Wynne, and Daan Braveman, president of Nazareth College. |
| WHAT: | The exhibition allows members of the homeless community to share their daily living conditions and struggles while stimulating new ideas and solutions to the epidemic of homelessness. The opening night and exhibition featuring 30 photos and writing pieces is free and open to the public and will be on display at Nazareth from May 15-May 31, 2012.
