Orland Park's Brooke Spencer named Northern Athletics Conference Softball Position Player of the Week

AURORA, IL (04/23/2013)(readMedia)-- Aurora University softball senior infielder Brooke Spencer (Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg H.S.) was named Northern Athletics Conference Softball Position Player of the Week for the week ending April 21, 2013.
Spencer helped the Spartans to a 6-0 week with doubleheader sweeps of Dominican University (4-0 and 10-1), Maranatha Baptist (8-0 and 18-0) and Edgewood College (10-2 and 4-2). She hit .706 with a home run and had six doubles, five runs scored and 10 runs batted in. Additionally, she had a 1.235 slugging percentage and a .667 on-base percentage on the week.
On the 2013 season, Spencer is hitting .471 with a team-leading 12 doubles, four home runs, 32 runs batted in and 26 runs scored. She has a .747 slugging percentage and a .520 on-base percentage.
Next action for the Spartan softball team, currently 27-3 overall and 19-1 in the NAC, is scheduled for Wednesday, April 24 when they host University of Chicago. Game one is set for 4:00 p.m. at the Stuart Sports Complex in Montgomery, Ill.
