Over 5,000 Participants Take Advantage Of Free Educational Forums
Grant Provides Training in Spanish and Russian
EAST GREENBUSH, NY (08/28/2007)(readMedia)-- According to the Community Health Care services Foundation, Inc., (CHC), over 5,000 paraprofessionals have participated in its free Spanish and Russian education and training programs.
Supported through a grant from the Cardinal Health Foundation, CHC is offering nine Spanish and Russian educational programs free of charge on a nation-wide basis via audio conferencing. These programs, translated from CHC’s series of paraprofessional Forums, make it easier for Spanish and Russian paraprofessionals to understand key concepts and important information. Topics include, “Dealing with Patients with Difficult Behaviors,” Safety for You and Your Patient,” and “Basic Life Skills: Training for Paraprofessionals” among others.
“Enhancing the quality of care delivered to Spanish and Russian communities is essential as these populations continue to grow,” said Phyllis Wang, president of CHC. “These programs fill an unmet educational need for these communities, and we have been pleased with the overwhelming response from agencies and individuals across the country.”
Translated programs will be offered at no cost until February 2008 and can be accessed at www.chcforum.org/forum.
