PERPETUAL MOTION DANCE COMPANY TO PERFORM QUINZE ON THURSDAY, NOV. 9 AT EAST CENTRAL UNIVERSITY
ADA, OK (10/27/2017) Perpetual Motion Dance, a modern and aerial dance company in Oklahoma City, will be performing Quinze, the company's 15 anniversary concert, on Thursday, Nov. 9, at 7:30 p.m. in East Central University's Ataloa Theatre of the Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center.
Perpetual Motion Dance blends postmodern and aerial dance techniques with a signature grace and technical ingenuity to create dance on all planes.
Advanced tickets are $15. ECU students are free with identification. Tickets are $20 at the door on the night of the performance.
The concert will open with one of the company's earliest signature works Perpetuum Moblie (2006), and also include six aerial dance pieces including a spinning carousel, "Zazen" (2012); a mixed metal invented apparatus, "Mercury" (2013); a silks quartet "Where Time Stands Still" (2013), along with three new pieces being debuted for the first time this season.
Additionally, the company will perform works by former company choreographer Rebecca Alca, former aerial director Kim Keiffer, founding company member Amy Nevius and artistic director Michelle Moeller.
"The level of artistry and innovation has grown tremendously in Perpetual Motion over the last several years and this concert is a celebration of what we have accomplished," Moeller said.
