PSC Hearings on National Grid's Mohican to Battenkill Transmission Facilities

Reconstruction 14 Miles, 115-kV Double-Circuit Transmission Facilities

ALBANY, NY (07/18/2011)(readMedia)-- The New York State Public Service Commission (Commission) today announced it will hold two informational forums and two public statement hearings on a proposal by Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation d/b/a National Grid to reconstruct approximately 14 miles of 115kV double-circuit electric transmission line located in Saratoga and Washington Counties.

Interested members of the public are invited to attend the public information forums to receive information from National Grid and Department of Public Service Staff, as follows:

Public Statement Hearings

Members of the public will have an opportunity to present their comments at the public statement hearings before an Administrative Law Judge. A verbatim transcript of the hearings will be made for inclusion in the record of the Commission's proceeding. It is not necessary to make an appointment in advance or to present written material in order to speak at the public statement hearing. Speakers will be called after completing a card requesting time to speak.

Disabled persons required special accommodations may place a collect call to the Department of Public Service's (Department) Human Resource Management Office at (518) 474-2520 as soon as possible. TDD users may request a sign language interpreter by placing a call through the New York Relay Service at 711 to reach the Department's Human Resource Office at the previously mentioned number.
