AIKEN, SC (09/01/2018) University of South Carolina Aiken students joined a national movement and donned their Pacer red, white and blue for National College Colors Day.

According to the National Day Calendar website, the day reserved to showcase collegiate pride was founded in 2004 by the College Licensing Company. Since then, it has been celebrated the Friday before Labor Day on campuses throughout the country. That's when students, alumni, families and fans are encouraged to show their team spirit by wearing their favorite college's colors or apparel.

The USC Aiken Student Government Association is taking it one step further by extending the chance to show off the university's Pacer Pride. SGA has designated a day each week for students and fans to dress in their favorite gear.

"USCA Monday was created by the Student Government Association to increase school spirit," according to Pacer Times, the USC Aiken student newspaper.
