Pair of Setters Earn NE-10 Weekly Honors
Ferro/Hagen Honored by Northeast-10 Conference
PLEASANTVILLE, NY (10/24/2011)(readMedia)-- Jillian Ferro (Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley) was named Northeast-10 Conference Player and Rookie of the Week, while Courtany Hagen (New Paltz, NY/New Paltz) was named NE-10 Goalkeeper of the Week after leading Pace to a 2-0 week. The Setters defeated Adelphi 2-1 and nationally ranked UMass Lowell 2-0 last week
Pace posted a 2-1 win over Adelphi on Oct. 18 where the Ferro netted the winning overtime goal along with one assist. The Setters then faced UMass Lowell on Oct. 22 where the freshman midfielder scored both goals for the win resulting in four individual points for a total of seven for the week.
Hagen played nearly 100 minutes in net against Adelphi recording two saves and allowing only one goal. She spent 90 minutes in the goal for the Setters against UMass Lowell and tallied ten saves as she posted a shutout win over the River Hawks. Hagen finished the week with a 0.47 goals against average. The junior goalkeeper has a save percentage of .923 and currently leads the NE-10 in saves with 111.
The Setters return to action on Tuesday, October 25 when they will host #1 University of Bridgeport at 3 pm at Pace Field on the Briarcliff campus.
