Parker Dunaway Elected Editor-in-Chief
of Student Newspaper at Hampden-Sydney College
HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA (04/17/2013)(readMedia)-- Parker Alexander Dunaway, a junior at Hampden-Sydney College, has been chosen Editor-in-Chief of the student newspaper, The Hampden-Sydney Tiger, for the academic year 2013-2014. The Tiger, founded in 1919, reports on significant events on and around campus and provides an outlet for student writers and photographers and a public forum for student opinion.
Parker served this year as the Associate Editor of the newspaper this year and is a member of the Society for Collegiate Journalists, the Classics Club, the Future Educators Club, the Pre-Law Society, and the Animation Club. He was the recipient of the Outstanding Freshman Journalist at Final Convocation in the Spring of 2011. A history and Latin major, Parker is a graduate of Christian Life Academy and is the son of Heber E. Dunaway, Jr., MD, of Baton Rouge and Kimbrell Dunaway of Jackson, MS.
A private college for men, Hampden-Sydney is ranked in the top tier of liberal arts colleges by U.S. News & World Report. The College is known for its liberal arts curriculum, the Honor Code which stresses individual and collective responsibility, and a focus on the education of young men.
