Patsy Cline story opening at Post Playhouse

First of this season's three plays beginning Friday

CHADRON, NE (06/01/2009)(readMedia)-- The Post Playhouse at Fort Robinson State Park will open this season's production schedule Friday, June 5, with the story of a legendary country music singer. "Always ... Patsy Cline" will take the stage at 8 p.m. Friday.

According to publicity material, the show is more than a tribute to the singer who died tragically at age 30 in a plane crash in 1963. It is based on a true story about Cline's friendship with a fan from Houston named Louise Seger, who befriended the star in a Texas honky-tonk in 1961, and continued a correspondence with Cline until her death.

The show features 27 songs, including Cline's hits "Crazy," "I Fall to Pieces," "Sweet Dreams," and "Walking After Midnight."

The Post Playhouse's other two shows, "Annie Get Your Gun" and "Hello Dolly," open June 12 and June 26, respectively. The three shows will run on a repertory basis through Aug. 16. Show times are 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 2 p.m. Sundays. The Playhouse will entertain audiences every day but Monday throughout the summer, except two Thursdays, June 11 and June 25.
