Paul Smith's College VIC to hold 'Photo Shootout'
PAUL SMITHS, NY (08/25/2016)(readMedia)-- Nineteen local photographers will converge on the Paul Smith's College VIC during Labor Day weekend for a "Photo Shootout" of the 3,000-acre landscape.
The results of the shootout, which takes place Sept. 2-5, will serve as this month's New Moon Art Show. It will remain on display until Oct. 1.
"We borrowed the idea of a photo shootout from the popular plein-air-painting concept, which challenges artists to produce pieces on site within a limited time frame," said professor Lee Ann Sporn, the show's coordinator. "The shared experience of the photographers will surely make for a unique and naturally cohesive show. I invite everyone to experience the beautiful Paul Smith's College VIC through the lens of so many talented, local photographers."
The VIC is also inviting the general public to take part in the shootout. Participants who want to display their own photos of the VIC landscape can share their work on the VIC's website. Visit, http://www.paulsmiths.edu/vic/photo-shoot-out/ to post a photo or view submissions.
