Paul Smith's College and North Country Community College announce student transfer agreements
Area institutions strengthen ties to promote regional higher education

PAUL SMITHS, NY (05/07/2015)(readMedia)-- Two area colleges have inked agreements that make four-year baccalaureate degrees more accessible for students in community college programs. Under the new agreements, students who earn certain two-year associate degrees at North Country Community College will be eligible to enter Paul Smith's College as recognized upperclassmen.
Students graduating from three of North Country Community College's degree programs: AS in liberal arts and sciences: math and science; AS in environmental sciences; and AS in wilderness recreation leadership can transfer directly into Paul Smith's College. These agreements provide community college students with a clear pathway for advanced education:
• B.S. in fisheries and wildlife science – wildlife concentration
• B.S. in fisheries and wildlife science – fisheries concentration
• B.S. in biology
• B.S. in environmental sciences
• B.S. in park, recreation and facilities management
• B.S. in recreation, adventure education and leisure management
With a combined history of more than 100 years providing higher education within the Adirondack Park, the two colleges have helped generations of students explore their interests and discover their abilities. Both institutions focus on delivering hands-on, applied education.
