PAUL SMITHS, NY (04/13/2018) Paul Smith's College students will now have the opportunity to participate in Army ROTC, an officer-development program that also pays up to the full cost of tuition.
The college is offering the program as a cross-town affiliate of Clarkson University and its Golden Knight Battalion.
Also this April, Paul Smith's received the Military Friendly School designation from Victory Media, an award that reflects the institution's commitment to its military community.
"As a cross-town affiliate, students will complete their physical training while on campus and participate once a week in the classroom at Clarkson University," explained Amy Tuthill, director of veteran and enrollment services. "As part of our continued commitment to being a military friendly school, we recognize the importance of training the nation's future soldiers, not only in academics, but in leadership necessary to become an officer in the U.S. Army."
The Army ROTC program is open to current and future students, generally even those entering their junior year. There's also a stipend provided by the Army in addition to tuition support.
Upon graduation, ROTC students will enter the Army as second lieutenants.
