Paul Smith's College announces new scholarships
PAUL SMITHS, NY (07/19/2016)(readMedia)-- Paul Smith's College will award $2,000 annual scholarships to the nine New York FFA members who prevail in a series of academic competitions at this year's New York State Fair.
The FFA Career and Leadership Development Competitions – which challenge students to put their natural science and agricultural skills to the test – will be held Thursday, Aug. 25, through Friday, Sept. 2, at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse.
"The FFA organization does a great job of igniting a spark in young people across the state," said Peter Burns, vice president for Enrollment Management at Paul Smith's College. "We would like to keep that fire burning and encourage students to pursue their educational and career goals. We hope that by participating in the scholarship competition, we will make it possible for some students to continue their education here at Paul Smith's. We have many current students who have participated in FFA, and we welcome their work ethic and drive."
Paul Smith's will offer the scholarships to the winners of the following contests:
– Agriculture Science
– Agronomy
– Environmental Science

– Wildlife Identification
