Paul Smith's College appoints new vice president of Business and Finance

PAUL SMITHS, NY (07/07/2015)(readMedia)-- Marty Hanifin has been named vice president for Business and Finance at Paul Smith's College. He begins his new role on Aug. 10.

"I am delighted to join the Paul Smith's community," Hanifin said. "I look forward to working with my new colleagues to serve and support the talented and committed students who make Paul Smith's such a special place."

Hanifin was born in New York and raised in northern Vermont. He's currently the vice chancellor for Administration and Finance at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire, where he's responsible for finance, budget, human resources, student accounts, audit, and safety. Before joining UW Eau Claire, he held similar finance and administration roles at Colorado State University-Pueblo and the University of Oregon. In addition to his valuable higher education experience, Hanifin also has considerable state government, legal, and legislative experience. He served as the chief financial and administrative officer for two departments of Vermont state government, and also served as fiscal analyst for the Oklahoma State Senate. He started his career as a staff member to two Vermont governors.

Hanifin holds a law degree from the University of Virginia and is admitted to practice in Vermont, Colorado and Oklahoma. His other graduate degrees include a Master's in public administration from the University of Oklahoma and a Master's in government & foreign affairs from the University of Virginia.
