Peggy Arnesen '63, Director of Major Planned Gifts, to Retire in October After 20 years

ELMIRA, NY (09/12/2018) After nearly two decades of service to the College, Director of Major and Planned Gifts Peggy Arnesen '63 has announced that she will retire on October 8.

A past winner of the Douglas Anderson Award for Administrative Excellence, Peggy joined the College in 1998 as the Director of Alumni Relations, where she helped Elmira College alumni reconnect with the College and each other. In 2009, she began her work as a major gift officer. During her stellar career, she has raised millions of dollars and secured many planned gifts.

An Elmira College alumna herself, Peggy earned a Bachelor's of Arts degree in psychology and mathematics and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She returned to Elmira College to earn a dual Master's degree in General Education and Adult Education.

"It has been a great privilege and joy to have served my Alma Mater for the past twenty years. I will leave with enormous respect for the professionals with whom I have worked and who have mentored me. I am grateful for the many alumni whom I have visited over the years and who have become friends and associates. I look forward to seeing many of you again at future Reunions," Peggy shared about her retirement.

"As an alumna I will continue to be closely involved with the College; and give her my loyal support. Elmira College has a bright future and I look forward to helping her grow and prosper in the years ahead. I will always be grateful to Elmira College for a wonderful and fulfilling career."
