Peoria Soldier promoted to Second Lieutenant

SPRINGFIELD, IL (02/03/2016)(readMedia)-- PEORIA, Illinois – Staff Sgt. Juan Villa of Peoria, Illinois, was commissioned as a second lieutenant during a ceremony Feb. 1 at Camp Lincoln, Springfield, Illinois.

Villa is the full-time project officer with the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, High-Yield Explosives Enhanced Response Force Package and serves as a traditional Soldier assigned to the 444th Chemical Company based in Galesburg, Illinois.

Villa enlisted in the Illinois Army National Guard in 2005.

He was the honor graduate from officer candidate school in August 2014.

Villa was joined by his fiancé Brittany Matusek, friends and colleagues for the event. Brittany pinned Villa's new rank on.
