Philadelphia Resident Palak Raval-Nelson Elected Secretary of Drexel University's Alumni Board of Governors

PHILADELPHIA, PA (08/08/2011)(readMedia)-- The Drexel University Alumni Association announced the newly elected members of its Board of Governors Executive Committee for the 2011-2013 term. Elected to the position of secretary is Philadelphia resident Palak Raval-Nelson, Ph.D., M.P.H. '02, '08.

Within the Board, Raval-Nelson served as treasurer for the 2009-2011 term. She has been involved with the Nominations Committee, the Grants Committee as well as a member of CAN DU, the Community Alumni Network of Drexel University.

Prior to joining the Board as an elected member, Raval-Nelson also served as an appointed member, representing Drexel's School of Public Health's Alumni Association. She was the President of its Alumni Association and was one of its original founders.

Raval-Nelson earned her Ph.D. in Environmental Health Science and Policy from Drexel's College of Arts and Sciences and she currently works for the City of Philadelphia Health Department as Director of Environmental Health Services.

Founded in 1965, the Drexel University Alumni Association is dedicated to keeping alumni in touch, informed, involved and invested in the university. The Alumni Association continuously works to strengthen the lifelong bond between Drexel and its alumni, to support and enhance the student experience and to help shape the future of Drexel.
