Williams, an exceptional actor and impassioned activist, was a powerful advocate for substance abuse recovery and gave voice to the human condition in both his life and his death. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and his community.

Overdose deaths are occurring at tragic and alarming rates. This is a crisis - in Brooklyn, where Williams lived, in New York State, and across the country. We will honor Williams' life, and continue to fight to end overdose deaths. This fight grows more urgent every day.
