Phoenix House CEO to NY State: "Don't Wait on Pharma Funds to Treat Addiction"

NEW YORK, NY (09/15/2020) (readMedia)-- Yesterday, a federal appeals court approved New York State to start collecting about $200 million from opiod drug manufacturers. In response, Ann-Marie Foster, CEO and President of Phoenix Houses of Long Island and New York issued the following statement:

"We are very happy the Appeals Court sided with New Yorkers and ruled in favor of necessary funding to combat the opioid epidemic. But we cannot wait for all legal options to be exhausted by pharmaceutical companies to close critical gaps in funding that are putting New Yorkers at risk right now. New Yorkers need statewide, fully funded substance abuse treatment programs that address a growing crisis made worse by the COVID pandemic."
