Phoenix House: "We Need Every Dollar for Addiction Care"
NEW YORK, NY (09/17/2020) (readMedia)-- Today, Governor Cuomo announced today that New York State filed civil charges against pharmaceutical giant Johnson & Johnson for insurance fraud over its marketing of opioids. In response, Ann-Marie Foster, CEO and President of Phoenix Houses of Long Island and New York issued the following statement:
"I commend Gov. Cuomo and his Administration for this important action against the perpetrators of the opioid crisis. The health and financial effects of COVID-19 threaten to reverse progress made against opioid abuse in recent years, and addiction care providers will need every dollar owed to fight back and save the lives of vulnerable New Yorkers."
