Phoenix House and New York City Food Bank Host Queens Food Bank

QUEENS, NY (03/25/2021) (readMedia)-- On Friday, Phoenix Houses of New York and Long Island will host a food bank with New York City Food Bank for Queens residents in need. COVID-19 has had profound impacts and challenges for those struggling with substance addiction. According to the CDC, over the last year overdoses have increased 18%, leading to 81,000 overdose deaths. Just recently, the New York Division seized 214 percent more meth seizures and 59 percent more fentanyl in 2020 compared with the year prior.
