Polish Armed Forces Photo Exhibit at the First Division Museum

CHICAGO (11/30/2011)(readMedia)-- Opening of the photo exhibit entitled "The Polish Armed Forces in the International Security Assistance Force Mission in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan," at the First Division Museum at Cantigny.

WHO:

• The Illinois National Guard

• Consulate General of the Republic of Poland

• Col. Michael Haerr, former Deputy Commander of Polish Task Force White Eagle and former Commander of the Bilateral Embedded Support Team A7, will be the guest speaker.

WHAT:

• Opening of the photo exhibit entitled “The Polish Armed Forces in the International Security Assistance Force Mission in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.”

• The exhibit was prepared by the Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.

• The exhibit consists of nine free-standing roll-up banners featuring the Polish Armed Forces mission in Afghanistan.

NOTES:

• The Illinois National Guard has maintained a State Partnership Program with Poland since 1993 and co-deploys with the Polish Land Forces to Afghanistan twice a year.

• Poland and Illinois share many historical, cultural, and military ties dating back more than 150 years.

• Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

• The exhibit will be on display for two weeks, Dec. 6 to 20.
