POMFRET, CT (12/13/2012)(readMedia)-- Morgan Olander, a postgraduate student at Pomfret School in Pomfret, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play Division I basketball for Bryant University in Providence, beginning next fall. She has been awarded a full four-year scholarship to attend Bryant.
An already strong basketball player with great moves to the basket, Morgan entered Pomfret in September for both the academic experience and the opportunity to fine-tune her already impressive skills before entering college. Girls Varsity Basketball Coach Rebecca Brooks regards Morgan as an invaluable addition to her team. "It's been only two weeks with Morgan," Brooks said after the signing, "but she is as steady and level-headed an athlete as I have coached. She brings composure to this young group, and balances us out on the floor."
The team is 3 for 1 so far this season, with Morgan being a steady leader. "With her experience, leadership and talent," added Brooks, "we have an exciting two months ahead of us."
Morgan is the daughter of Stanley and Tracy Olander of Mansfield Center.
