Pumpkin Run 5K Registration Underway
DANVILLE , IL (09/20/2019) (readMedia)-- Registration is under way for a community 5K event that will be held on Saturday, October 26. The 1st Annual Pumpkin 5K will benefit the developing honor society of Lakeview College of Nursing. The officers of the developing honor society are organizing the event.
People of all ages are welcome to register and attend this family friendly 5K Run and Walk that will take place at Kennekuk County Park, Hickory Hollow Pavilion, 22296 Henning Road, Danville, IL. There will be 4 categories: 1) Runners, 2) Fun Runners, 3) Walkers 4) Walkers with strollers and children. There will be completion medals for everyone!!!
Pre-registration is underway. Registration fees are as follows: $35 for adults, $20 for Children under the age of 10, and kids in strollers are free. You must register before October 11 to receive a t-shirt. Online registration link and hard copy registration forms are available for print through the group's Facebook page – just search for Lakeview College of Nursing Honor Society Pumpkin Run 5k or go directly to https://www.facebook.com/groups/2835454729817463/. Registration forms are also available at the College's Charleston (580 W. Lincoln) and Danville (903 N. Logan Ave.) locations.
Race day registration will also be available from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45a.m. on Sat., October 26, but there is no guarantee of a t-shirt. The race event will begin according to the following wave schedule: 11:00 a.m. Competitive Runners; 11:10 a.m. Non-Competitive Runners; 11:20 a.m. Walkers; 11:30 a.m. Strollers. The race route will offer water stations and there will be post-race refreshments.
The Lakeview College of Nursing Developing Honor Society is hoping to establish a chapter of the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society. Money raised will help fund additional resources for members, including future scholarship opportunities.
Lakeview College of Nursing has provided excellence in nursing education since 1894. Lakeview currently offers a bachelor of science in nursing degree program in Danville as well as Charleston, Illinois.
