Staunton Parks and Recreation reveals entertainment line-up
STAUNTON, VA (10/25/2010)(readMedia)-- Staunton Parks and Recreation annnounces Queen City Fire Circus to Appear at Haunted Woods.
The Queen City Fire Circus will headline the entertainment planned for the Haunted Woods at Montgomery Hall Park on Friday, October 29th. Event goers will have the luxury of really cool and event-appropriate entertainment while they wait for their turn to tour the Haunted Woods. Lindsay Kilbourne, the group's Artistic Manager reveals some of their plans.
"A little bit about the show: This piece is reminiscent of the three witches scene in Macbeth. We will start with a very ritualistic dance around a free standing fire pit. During which we will create flashes from the fire. We will then transition into dancing with small hand torches and doing a bit of fire eating. From there we will continue ritualistic dance, with our mask pieces lit. As these extinguish, our music will transition to a more melodious chaos, denoting the success of the enchantment, at which point we will engage in a high energy dance sequence, using fire poi (balls on chains)…". Shows will be performed at the top of each hour beginning at 7pm and ending at 10pm.
Also on board for the evenings entertainment is Crimson Gypsy performing tribal fusion bellydances as well as Cutch Tuttle, Steve DeVenny and the Deliverance Band. Seasonal refreshments and spooky henna will be available for purchase. A complimentary hayride will be available for patrons traumatized from the haunted woods.
Tickets are now on sale at Montgomery Hall Park.
