CHATTANOOGA, TN (08/13/2014)(readMedia)-- Who wouldn't love an exceptional dinner from Ruth's Chris, while enjoying fantastic entertainment by the Love, Peace and Happiness Band? Throw in wonderful auction items, vendors and a chance to support life-saving lung health research and you have a sure-fire can't-miss event.

It all takes place Saturday evening , November 1, 2014 as Chattanooga-area supporters of the American Lung Association in Tennessee host the Quest for a Cure Research Dinner Gala. The location of this year's event will be the Ballroom at the Embassy Suites.

The fun gets underway at 6:30 p.m. with cocktails, special vendors, and a silent auction. Next up are an exclusive Ruth's Chris dinner, program, live auction and the Love, Peace and Happiness Band www.gigsalad.com/lovepeacehappinessband.

Dress is black-tie-optional. All are encouraged to come join in the fun! All proceeds will benefit the American Lung Association in Tennessee's life saving pulmonary disease research and educational programs. Co-Chairs, Jim and Sandra Brewer and Jamie and Amy Thomas, will be there to welcome our very special guests.

Porsche of Chattanooga, BlueCross BlueShield Community Trust, The Allergy and Asthma Group, and Brewer Media are among the sponsors for the event. Various sponsorship levels are still available. Individual reservations are $100 per person (until October 1st.) Auction item donations are also gladly accepted.

More than 37.7 million Americans, of all ages, suffer from chronic or acute lung disease such as asthma, emphysema, COPD, or lung cancer. Locally, up to three people die a day from lung disease and smoking related diseases. Nationwide, lung cancer is one of the leading cancer killer of both men and women. In the United States, lung cancer is the #1 CANCER KILLER OF WOMEN.

The mission of the American Lung Association in Tennessee is to prevent lung disease and promote lung health. The Chattanooga community has generously supported this mission for well over 50 years. The community's support of this year's research gala will continue to provide critical support for the "Fight for Air."
