RWU Student Designs Robot to Study Molecular Longevity

Senior Colton Pelletier, a Biology and Applied Mathematics double major from Bristol, Conn., used his interdisciplinary education to construct a robot that documents the life span of rotifers, as part of Roger Williams University's Molecular Longevity Laboratory.

Pelletier's robot, which he dubbed the Roti-bot, documents the life span of rotifers, a microscopic aquatic invertebrate that has a genome relatively similar to humans, making them ideal model organisms to study in relation to molecular longevity.
