Rachel Campbell Earns MIAA Volleyball Specialist of the Week Honors

Rachel Campbell of the Trine University women's volleyball team was named Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Women's Volleyball Specialist of the Week for the first time in her career on Sept. 18.

The junior defensive specialist from Greenfield, Indiana dominated in the back row in four wins for the Thunder. Trine was able to sweep Defiance College in non-conference action and went 3-0 over a weekend in upstate New York. The Thunder topped Oswego State University, the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and Grove City College 3-0, 3-0 and 3-1.

In total, Campbell dug out 60 opposing attacks, good for 15 digs per match and 4.62 digs per set. She set a new career-high with 25 digs in the four-set victory over Grove City. She was also able to tally 17 assists, including eight against the Wolverines and had a pair of service aces.
