Rachel Hoverstad of Waseca chosen as an Emerging Leader at St. Olaf College
Student honored at Outstanding Leadership Awards Program
NORTHFIELD, MN (04/28/2014)(readMedia)-- Rachel Hoverstad '16 of Waseca was recognized as an "Emerging Leader" at the recent Outstanding Leadership Awards Program at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. This award is given to three freshman or sophomore students who have played a significant role in enhancing student life.
Hoverstad was recognized for her work on the executive committee of Awesome Club, an autism social skills and awareness program. She worked in the Northfield school system with students on the autism spectrum and also created awareness on campus and in the community about Autism Spectrum Disorder. She also started a bible study group and taught ballet and yoga to a teenager with a debilitating disability.
Hoverstad is a graduate of Waseca High School and the daughter of Thomas and Janice Hoverstad.
