Raleigh resident wins Stamps Scholarship to Wake Forest University

WINSTON SALEM, NC (06/17/2013)(readMedia)-- River Wu of Raleigh, NC is the recipient of the Penelope W. and E. Roe Stamps IV Leadership Scholar Award to attend Wake Forest University in the fall.

The four-year scholarship is one of the most selective in the nation. Each winner receives an annual stipend covering the costs of tuition, room, board and personal expenses plus grant opportunities for summer research, travel and international study.

Stamps Scholars are recognized as exceptional students who exemplify leadership, perseverance, scholarship, service, and innovation. The scholarship was established at Wake Forest in 2012 by the Stamps Family Charitable Foundation, Inc.

Wu, the son of Jun Wu and Hong Zhou, will graduate from William G. Enloe High School in Raleigh, NC.
