Rebecca Baylor to Participate in Global Issues Seminar in Washington, D.C.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (01/17/2012)(readMedia)-- Rebecca Baylot of Fenton, Mo., is among a select group of elite Southeast Missouri State University undergraduates chosen to participate in a five-day seminar in Washington, D.C., during spring break March 11-16, learning about global issues in business, the environment and politics at the prestigious Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).
Students selected for the opportunity were required to demonstrate leadership involvement on and off campus, academic excellence or both.
Participants for the trip were nominated by faculty members and selected by University administrators, including Southeast President Kenneth W. Dobbins, Southeast Provost Ronald Rosati, deans and regional campus directors.
Baylor is studying for majors in psychology and communication studies. She is a senior at Southeast and chair of Psi Chi. She was names to the Dean's List for 2010-2011 and is a member of the Jane Stephens Honors Program. Baylor is vice president of the Student Wellness Advocacy Group, is a study abroad participant, and is a volunteer for Model United Nations.
Baylor is the daughter of David Baylor of Canton, Ohio, and Diane Newby of Fenton. She was a 2009 graduate of Rockwood Summit High School in Fenton.
