ALBANY, NY (05/20/2008)(readMedia)-- New York Republican State Committee Chairman Joseph N. Mondello today announced that State Committee will hold its annual State Dinner on Thursday, May 29th in the Grand Ballroom of the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers in New York City, highlighted by Special Guests Vice President Dick Cheney and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and remarks by Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno and Assembly Republican Leader James Tedisco.
“Last year’s dinner was a tremendous success, and this year’s event is shaping up to be even better. We are particularly honored to have such a distinguished group of Republicans-- led by our Vice President Dick Cheney-- who have served their constituents here in New York and across the nation with dedication and character,” said Chairman Mondello. “With appearances by Vice President Cheney and New York’s premier Republicans including Mayor Giuliani, Senator Bruno, Assemblyman Tedisco and others, it’s going to be a great time to gather together, reaffirm our principles and plans for the future, and be proud to be New York Republicans.”
Chairman Mondello reinstated the State Dinner with much success last year after nearly a decade hiatus. Enthusiastic Republican supporters filled the Grand Ballroom of the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers to hear United States Senator John McCain and Mayor Giuliani outline their vision for the future of the country.
“The State Dinner is a great opportunity for us to gather together and talk about what it means to be Republicans, and I am proud that we are successfully reinstating it as an annual tradition,” said Chairman Mondello. “Additionally, it is a important fundraiser that helps ensure we have the resources necessary to drive our Republican messages and support our candidates in this critical election year. It will be a great night for a good cause, so I encourage Republican supporters to come out and enjoy the evening.”
Receptions will be held beginning at 6:00 pm. The dinner and program will begin at 7:00 pm. For more information about attending the State Dinner, contact Mary or Allison at Republican State Committee at (518) 462-2601 or visit the website at www.nygop.org.
